How does Hatton know power beats him? Hatton hasnt been beaten so he cant really know what will beat him. Kostya couldnt!
I think Ricky being with Billy Graham has helped Ricky be as successful as a boxer as he is. He does things without having to think, just like JC training with his father all these years. Naseem changed trainers and downhill from there.

? How does Ricky Hatton know how he can be beaten, is that your question?

I meant he might have been dehydrated in the fight itself, as going 12 rounds is no easy feat. Hatton carried too much weight, and might have been struggling to keep himself loose and sharp, therefore expanding more energy/sweating more.

I'm not saying this as an excuse or anything, I'm just pointing out a possible explanation..
how about this, an over eager hatton threw absolutely everything he had for two thirds of the fight at an opponent who absorbed it and was not only still standing but firing back, hatton was tired and also demoralized

Yep, that's a real possibility. I wouldn't know, I don't know Hatton or the way of his mind.
Haven't seen the entire fight either. The youtube quality kills all the fun for me, so I haven't bothered.

Maybe Hatton expanded too much energy in the middle rounds and became vulnerable. Most people do when they are tired. Most people get tired over 12 rounds too.
If not, they've had an easy fight.

I like Ricky's chances in this fight.
That's not to say that I think he will win, but I'm not ****** enough to say he has no chance either.

if Tszyu didn't beat Ricky, power definitely isn't the key to beating him.

The kind of frightening firepower that Louise Collazo carries in those "Thunder Pillows" of his?

Here is what I saw on May 5th: only one man in that ring got buckled....and it wasn't the LW.

Well, I beg to differ. No human being can overlook real power in the ring.
Hatton kept Tszyu on his back foot all night long, at a relatively close range where Kostya are pretty much ineffective with his powerpunches.

Look at how wide Kostya's stance are. Try to stand with your front foot 2 feet in front of your back foot. Then place about 70% of your weight on your back foot.
Now, try to do some infighting...

Not only will you be severly out of balance, you will also find that you have no power at all. It's all about balance and leverages...

Tszyu is very powerful on long-range, straight punches, where his stance allows him to gain alot of momentum and weight into the right hand.

Ricky did exactly what needed to be done against Tszyu; he pushed him back, giving him no time to set up his punches nor settle down on his feet.

The style of Ricky Hatton isn't particularly pretty, but it is highly effective.

I haven't really seen many of Ricky's fights, so I don't know how he handles runners, brawlers etc.
But powerful uppercuts and side-to-side movements ala Calzaghe vs Lacy is probably a good key to defeat Hatton.

Exactly. Who has KO'd Baldomir? Who has KO'd Oscar?

People denigrate Floyd for not putting the hurt on Oscar. But Oscar went almost 100 rounds with:
Shane, Vargas, Hopkins, Quartey, Mayorga, Castillejo, Sturm, TRINIDAD
                    .

Oscar was stopped ONCE. And that was on a body shot from a HoF (big) middleweight. A bodyshot that half of you believe was staged.

Floyd stoped Sharmba and had Zab running from his punches. Zab stopped throwing because he didn't like what was coming back. After the Mitchell fight, Shamrba said he was surprised by Floyd's power. Gatti can take a punch. Right? He didn't seem eager to trade once he tasted Floyd's power.

In fact, has ANYBODY (except Oscar) who has fought Floyd insulted his power?

Mayweather is going to stop Hatton. Beleeeee dat.
