Ricky Hatton: "To Beat Me You Need Firepower"

Ricky Hatton is not convinced of Floyd Mayweather Jr's punching power. Actually, Hatton senses that Mayweather is feather-fisted fighter with brittle hands. He hopes to expose his hunch when he challenges Mayweather for the WBC welterweight title on Dec. 8 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. [details]

Well, Mayweather's no puncher. And it will be interesting to see if Floyd's brittle little hands will hold.
But I think Mayweather will be stronger than Hatton believes...

THis is going to get interesting by the morning.

People are going to point out the fact that Collazo hurt Hatton.

Its just the way it is. Even though I don't see Mayweather hurting Hatton.

In fairness, Collazo hurt Hatton in the last round. It might have been just as much from dehydration and exhaustion as a chin-related issue.
Dehydration is seriously damaging to all your attributes, just ask Cotto.

However, Mayweather is very precise with his punches and excells in his timing. Those things combined with Ricky leaping in might cause a knockdown or two.

hatton shouldnt have been dehydrated for collazo as he had 7lbs less to lose for the fight. hatton is hoping floyd doesnt punch more than anything. its evident floyd hasnt carried his power up.

Ricky was tired from carrying the excessive weight and being in a much tougher fight than he anticipated against Colloseo. I don't think he was that hurt, he just got careless trying to close the show and got caught with a few good punches. Ricky came back during the round so he obviously wasn't seriously hurt.

I don't think Floyd can hurt Ricky. He may be able to surprise him though. I think Hatton definitely can and will hurt Floyd. That's why I see Ricky stopping Floyd late, No Doubt!

He wasn't dehydrated to make the weight, obviously.
I meant he might have been dehydrated in the fight itself, as going 12 rounds is no easy feat. Hatton carried too much weight, and might have been struggling to keep himself loose and sharp, therefore expanding more energy/sweating more.

I'm not saying this as an excuse or anything, I'm just pointing out a possible explanation..

Hatton will witness Mayweather's punching power when it cuts and bloodies him up before the fight is stopped.

I am still wondering why Floyd's power is mediocre at 147. He TKO'd Sharmba, put the works on jab and couldn't KO IRON CHINNED Carlos Baldomir. Most of you guys will be more than suprised by Floyd's power this fight, just wait and see.
