How good was Jake LaMotta?

Arguably the hardest chin ever. He could take shots(and in combo) that were just amazing. The kind of single shots and combos that almost always make a fighter go down or out, and he took them on numerous occasions from huge punchers like Robinson and from huge hitting Heavyweights like Satterfield, never legitimately knocked down I don't believe.

As far as his skills, think of him as a smaller version of Marciano style-wise without the power. He went to the body to wear you down in the long run because he didn't have that power, but he had an even greater chin than Rocky and awesome stamina like him as well.

Common misconception.

Lamotta was never Knocked Down against SUGAR RAY ROBINSON, but was in fact down in his career.

Danny Nardico knocked him down with a big right hand and forced Lamotta to quit on his stool before the 8th. He essentially ended Lamottas career although he did make a brief comeback 2 years later.

But all that was in the 50's, and Lamotta wasnt what he once was. It says nothing about his chin or his will, he was washed up at that point

Hey bums get knocked down and if u gna count that then fine count it so hes knocked down once in his career u stil think u can take his chin away from him? no u cant cause not alot of fighters can go 100+ fights with only being knocked down once thank you.
He had heart,defense,will,chin and was great on the inside so yes he was a atg but as we all know theres always someone better then u even if u become a atg.
