    a) Few watch the little guys
    b) The style at strawweight is so different that it is hard to imagine them fighting at bantamweight nevermind a weightclass that is popular.
    c) He doesn't have many big wins on his resume. I don't know why he didn't fight carbahal or gonzalez.
Chikita's last fight was against Sorjaturong (when he lost his LightFly crown) in 1995. Finito had already beaten Sorjaturong about two years earlier at Minimum weight. Lopez did not move to LightFly until October 1999 when he took the IBF title from Will Grigsby.

Lopez could have met Carbajal after the latter won the WBO crown over Jorge Arce in July 1999. But Carbajal did not even bother to defend that crown. The Arce fight became his last. If memory serves, it was about that time that reports came out re: Carbajal having domestic issues and having been picked up by cops for causing trouble in bars, etc.

Lopez, on the other hand, defended his IBF LightFly title twice (vs. Sor Vorapin and Petelo) then, in 2001, bade the sport goodbye in a tearful press conference in Mexico City-- two months after the successfull defense against Petelo.
