When I watched the Hatton-Collazo fight live, I was relatively new in the boxing department. Yes I haven't been a die-hard fan for as long as most people but ever since I started, I've been knee deep from day 1. I remember knowing that Ricky was in DEEP ****, and I've only watched the fight that one time through, but I do remember thinking Ricky did enough in the beginning rounds to take it.

How'd everybody else see this fight? Scores, etc.?

      1. He's by far making the biggest payday of his career against Mayweather.

      2. I don't know if he was spooked by his performance in the fight or his camp said don't do it or it was too much of a risk. I know it's much easier to avoid a guy or fear him after you've actually been in the ring with him.

I think Ricky's problem like he said, was that he came in RIGHT AT 147, trying to be as big as Collazo, and his in-ring performance suffered because of it, he was like, pushing 160 on fight night, which isn't good when a guy's been averaging 152 or so, that extra poundage couldn't be good for him.

He has admitted to it be a bad night for him. He took the wrong approach regarding the weight as well. I dont think he intentionally avoided a rematch with Collazo. Ricky's 3 fight deal with HBO was to gain him some exposure with the American crowd in order to build up a fight with Floyd. What would a rematch with Collazo done for him? Nothing. If Ricky wouldve beat him again, it would've just been a waste of a fight and time.

            So...

Hatton is ducking a fighter he beat already to fight for the most money he has ever made?

Im fairly certain that if it were your job to scub toilets, and after you scrubbed one I said you could scrub it again, or you could go scrub a different toilet for millions of dollars....

You would say..NO! I must do a BETTER JOB Scrubbing this first toilet. To make sure all the people that watch me scrub toilets wont have negative things to say about me. Keep your millions fool!

To have Floyd "Money May" as your hero, then go and deride a different boxer for going for the bigger payday...

Yea. Cause its all about reputation with Floyd Fans. Not Money.

            Wait...

He is getting paid 10mil to fight Floyd. Let's be real here he wanted no part of Collazo again for reasons I don't know.

He fought Collazo three fights ago. There was not Mayweather fight around back then, not even a scent. He fought Juan Urango next, for probably less money (not by much) than what he would have made for Collazo.
