this board would explode if that happened, there would be very little left to hate on.

    imagine this

floyd stops hatton, it outsells DLH's next fight, and floyd lines up to fight cotto, what else would there be to hate on?

i dont think all of those things are going to happen, but like i said, it would be like the dark side in the empire strikes back.

      Lol at ******'s opening post...

If Mayweather is a draw, he has to attract the exact same number of fans no matter who he fights!

      What a ****ing idiot...

The equation has two parts, from both fighters... what makes someone a draw is that their numbers are consistently high.

Your logic makes De La Hoya not a draw, because his other fights didn't have as high numbers as his fight with Mayweather did. ****ing genius.

        Floyd set to break records
        By Dave Doyle

Some people like Floyd Mayweather Jr. Some don't. But it seems that everyone is watching him.

The undefeated WBC welterweight champion set a pay-per-view record on May 5, when his win over Oscar De La Hoya drew an estimated 2.5 million buys.

My Yahoo! Sports colleague, Kevin Iole, reports that Mayweather's Dec. 8 match with fellow unbeaten Ricky Hatton at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas is projected to draw 1.5 million buys. If so, Mayweather will become the first boxer to draw four million pay-per-view buys in history.

The fight sold out in about a half hour, generating a total paid gate of more than $10 million. Already, 18,000 closed circuit tickets have been sold in Las Vegas. Sponsors are beating the door down hoping to attach their names to the bout.

Promoter Richard Schaefer of Golden Boy said all other revenue streams for the Mayweather-Hatton bout are running at about 60 percent of what they were for the Mayweather-De La Hoya bout in May, which was the richest fight ever.

He said the pay-per-view results generally follow that trend which, if true, means Mayweather-Hatton will do about 1.5 million pay-per-view sales. That would make Mayweather Jr. the first non-heavyweight ever to sell more than 1 million pay-per-views in back-to-back fights, as well as the first man to 4 million in one calendar year.

He could generate more than $200 million in pay-per-view revenue alone in 2007.

So if 60% of the people from the Mayweather-De La Hoya fight are coming to this fight who's fans mights those 60% be...???

            Oscar de la hoya fans?

            or

            Mayweather Fans

So basically 60% percent of the people of the Mayweather-De La Hoya fight were there to see FLOYD....because those 60% of people are back to see Floyd again.....!!

            not 40% but 60%

Floyd is not a draw you say...?

DLH is the biggest draw, we know that. Floyd is a draw, but not the biggest draw out there.

Thanks again for starting such a great thread.

It will get a good number of buys, mostly from England.

Man, for being as smart as you are... you sure have your moments when hate makes you say some odd ****.

England is going to get the majority of the buys? Hmm...
