What I want in Floyd's next fight

God I just realized that I would absolutely love to see Mayweather-Williams.

I personally think that Mayweather's defense would likely solve both Cotto and Cintron (that is just in my opinion, please don't argue with me about that in THIS thread), so that is why I would want to see this.

Mayweather already beat one opponent who threw a million punches in Jesus Chavez, but they fight completely differently.

I would love to see Mayweather's defense try to solve the trillion punches that Williams throw, and see how he finds ways to land punches himself.

Obviously this wouldn't be FOTY, but I do think it would be more exciting than Cotto or Cintron.

I would guess Mayweather-Cotto would look like Castillo II, and I would guess Mayweather-Cintron would look like the Corrales fight.

hopefully Floyd will be able to make up his mind what he's fighting for after the Hatton fight.

That would be an awesome fight, very interestiing. But I don't think you can compare his earlier fights to those that he would fight now, the size differences are huge. Willaim's arms are longer than Floyd, I actually think Williams would UD Floyd with workrate and length in a fight with not to many exchanges. I actually can't see how Mayweather would do it, the style and size combination are very bad news for him, plus williams does have pop and a solid Jab.

I don't know, maybe it would... I thought they looked similar, except Floyd's shoulder was more healthy (supposively, I don't know how much truth there is to the shoulder claims, so I can't make a definitive statement either way), and he seemed to have figured out that style a little bit better.

I assume he kept a little of that knowledge, and would try to stay off the ropes a whole lot more against Cotto.

HBO has their arm lengths as identical in all their fights. Whether that is true or not, idk... his height would help that though.

It's so hard to envision how workrate plays up against Floyd's defense, because in reality, there has never been someone who is prolific with the shoulder roll shell defense, and has great elusivity. That is why I want to see it.

It wouldn't happen. Williams is young, huge, and undefeated. A real modern phenom. Mayweather wants guys in his age range and experience level. Mayweather won't be fighting any of these young, upcoming guys anytime soon.

Wont happen. Floyd needs to fight Cotto and that's it. That's the only option, but he'll probably end up fighting Mosley.

Are u serious, I heard on HBO that Williams has longer reach than any of the heavyweight champions. It could be even when it's both of mayweather's arm, hahahah? If Paul fought the way he fought margarito, non-agressive and using distance, not coming forward, I can't imagine floyd winning, seeing floyd trying to come in on him would be great though. VERY INTERESTING.

Williams has a huge wingspan, but arm length (from armpit to end of fist) is equal, at least according to HBO.
