I think he was just saying Hatton is fighting a fighter who is on a different level to anyone else he has faced before.

I dont believe he was dismissing the Tszyu victory.

He stirred clear of Junior Witter 4 years ago remember
      Hatton wanted to fight Witter.

Any proof to back that statement? Not the "he called him out a couple of times" argument. That can be dismissed as just trying to save face. I'm talking about, if you've read any articles at the time that lead you to believe he was TRULY pursuing the issue.

At one time, when their rivalry was such that Hatton had it written into a contract with Warren, his former promoter, that he would get to face Witter, the walls of Hatton’s gym in Denton was covered in grotesque caricatures of Witter, each with a suitably disrespectful caption.

          Will that do?

Sure. I wasn't necessarily doubting you, I just don't remember them really getting too close to a fight. However, some fights just don't get made. What can you do?

Against tsyzu he was such an underdog not because tsyzu was that good but because Hatton previous competition were incredibly terrible.
Not because Tszyu was #2 p4p in the world at the time right? Not because he was the dominant 140 lber for a decade, right?

                I blame Frank Warren personally.

Frank Warren and Don King should shoot eachother at the same time if at all possible.

Or just.. try and make good fights, instead of ripping off fighters AND fans.

So many nuthuggers. I honestly might take a week or two off the site just to avoid the rush.

As far as the Kostya Tszyu argument I mentioned. I have heard you MENTION to Baldomir fight, and justify it with the fact that he was the TRUE welterweight champion. Couldn't the same be said for Kostya Tszyu and Ricky Hatton? Just curious as to your thoughts.
I justified , and continue to justify, Baldomir as an opponent because he had the Welterweight belt.

How do you pass up the chance to fight for the welterweight title for ten million dollars?

But I have no illusions that Baldo was great. I also justify Hatton fighting Tszyu for the REAL belt.

Just don't make it like Tszyu was peak or prime.

                      Huh?? I disagree.

When you are in trouble in a fight, or you are in deep waters that you haven't been, an experienced corner is extremely important.
