Because that would mean fighting the best in that division, and even Floyd will have to admit he never fought the best in any division.
Politics had a bit to do with it at 147... he won the IBF, and immediately went for the WBC, but was stripped of the IBF belt. If Baldomir had paid his fees to the IBF, he would have won both also.

I was already partially aware of that, but thats 1 division out of the 6 hes a world champion in. He could have made a unification bout in a heartbeat if he wanted one (It would go something along the lines of "How do you fancy fighting Floyd Mayweather Jr?" Takes a second to decide, "OK then sign here")

The fact is he has never unified, and as such has never been the dominant force in his weight division that I feel a P4P fighter should be.

Only if Floyd was'nt as mouthy as he is he would have a good chance of winning the fight, dont be surprised if you see a shutout by Hatton, clearly because Floyd talks too much and I want to see him get shut.

So, because Floyd is arrogant, and Ricky is nice, then you're going to discount all the amazing amazing talent that Floyd has and reckon he's going to get beat because, erm, Ricky is a nice guy.

****ing hell, where so we get guys like this guy from?

Did you notice any sarcasm, Genius? It was what some people are saying in this board when asked why they think Hatton will win.

He has only been in 5 divisions FYI.

The only division that he has stayed at for a while, and hasn't unified was 130. Even then, he fought Corrales, who had defended the IBF (I think) title in his previous match, but he said that he was moving up to 135, so they vacated that title. Check boxrec for accuracy on that one.

At 135, he got The Ring and the WBC belt and defended it twice before moving up... I guess he could have unified another belt, but when you are The Ring champion, what is the point of collecting paper belts?

At 140 the first time he had a title was after his last fight.

At 147, he got a belt in his second fight, and went for a different belt in his third fight. One was vacated though obviously. He still had The Ring belt, but choose to move up before he unified.

At 154, he only had 1 fight, and he was a belt, and the moved back down.

He will likely try to unify at 147 after this fight. He said he wants the winner of Cintron-Williams, and I am guessing that he does end up fighting Cotto, because critics will make him if he doesn't want to.

In boxing, the bad guy usually wins. Unfortunately, a pretty good guy is likely to end the fight covered in a pool of blood.

Even Joe Calzaghe is picking Mayweather.
