Is SRL a Top 5 All Time Great?

We were discussing this in another thread & I'm a bit suprised people think he's a Top 5 All Time Great. What Do you think?

    Sugar Ray Leonard Record:
    won 36 (KO 25) + lost 3 (KO 1) + drawn 1 = 40

My personal opinion is No. He didn't have that long of a career & didn't have many decisive victory's. I think his greatest victory was verse Hearns. Hagler was controversial. Lost To Duran, then was acting like he was on coke in the second fight. He's def an All-Time great, but Def Not Top 5 in my book. I think of him more of a De La Hoya of the 80's. Pop Boxing Superstar... Plus don't even let me mention Hector Macho Camacho. haha...

Yes he is. He held wins over the best fighters of his generation (maybe of all time). Whether or not he beat them decisively is not the question- but whether he won or not. I always say that it's too big of a coincidence that all of these wins that Ray had are considered controversial. Judges score fights differently. Some of you who oppose the nods that the judges gave him probably look for other criteria in winning rounds.

Also, people seem to forget that the first Duran fight was VERY close. Whereas the second was as decisive as you can possibly make a fight.

its decisive cause Duran was like F this, Leonard isn't gonna even fight, he's gonna run around like a chicken and appease the crowd. I think Leonard was a pop superstar, overratted because of the brainwashing media.
