Boxing ran in the family for me, both my grandad and my dad boxed so when my friend asked if I fancied going to the gym I had a go. 5 years later I realised I wasn't actually any good so gave up, but continued to watch as a fan.Comment

Well i became a fan just 2 years ago, I was always an Ali buff, Like though i wasnt a boxing fan i was always an ali fan ( credit that to my grandpa) And one day i heard about some guy who people said was even better than ali! now of course at the time i was completly ignorant and was under the impression that ALi was the greatest of all time, But anyways i decided id check the guy out, the guy was of course ray robinson, And i got pretty into him, i sstarted reading books about him god i musta read like 10 and in the books it kept saying how he wass a fan of joe louis, so i started reading into him and from him i found marciano and from marciano i found dempsey and so on and so on untill i became verry knolageable about boxing history, And then i decided, Hey id like to see a live fight, So i bega watching friday night fights on espn and then i started watching HBO and i just fell in love with the sport. Boxing has now become my whole life, Ive gotten into fights over it, Ive began virtualy hating my brother over a boxing match and ive broke up with 2 girlfriends because they got mad at me for watching boxing to much, But basically for me boxing was just a slippery slope that i fell intoComment

Be it training or just watching the boxing. What was it that made you think this is sport that i love. For me it was watching the zab judah v floyd mayweather fight with all of the buildups, the fight itself i feel that fight captured everyones imaginations and showed the good and bad in boxing.
What are your reasons?
Hagler - Hearns when I was 9. Adrenaline rush like no other. That's my reason.Comment

Used to take Karate as a young kid (between 6 and 7) and developed a love of fighting and watching fighting. As i started to grow up I grew out of the discipline involved in Karate and realised how boring it is to watch. Searched for a new contact sport to watch and found boxing.
Oh and ben41193, dw bout the whole gf thing, I ditched mine in town on her birthday because I didnt want to miss the Calzaghe Kessler fight. I told her the day it was announced that I wasnt gunna miss it, but even after missing the undercard and the first 2 rounds, she still didnt appreciate my sacrifice and broke up with me lolComment
