    1) By giving de la hoya every advantage possible and still winning
    2) Calling Hatton out in public and giving him nowhere to go.

Mayweather only has a few fights left in him anyways, so he isnt the future of boxing, but like him or not, he is very entertaininng.

About his personality, if you see what you only want to see, your su****ions will be confirmed,

But let me make this more clear.

Last year/this year, Who toured 30 schools talking to children about building a better future.

    Mayweather or Hatton?

Who always keeps in shape because he respects his dicipline and doesnt go out on all night drink and curry binges which leave him overweight and nowhere near fight shape?

    Mayweather or Hatton?

Who has built more gyms and community centres for the public

    Mayweather or Hatton?

Who bought thousands of meals for impoverished families in their hometown,

    Mayweather or Hatton?

Dont get too caught up in the hype.
Mayweather was already retired, why would he call Hatton out? It was Hatton who called Mayweather out after the Castillo fight, and Mayweather, being the money grabbing little prick he is, looked at the crowd and had those little $ signs in front of his eyes and agreed to one last run (I would say fight, but you can hardly call what Mayweather does fighting)

A link to where I can see that Mayweather called Hatton out would be nice, but obviously you didnt state one because your so full of ****.

Its also not Hattons fault he doesnt live in as big a ****hole as Floyd, he cant be judged on that.

            It's pretty simple, really...

It's mostly a matter of perspective and what the purpose of his behavior is.

Floyd is a business man. He's been in the game long enough to know what it takes to sell a fight from an insider's perpective.

Many in the game agree that his popularity in the sport would've arrived sooner had his career been managed properly. And after being in the shadows, for so long, so to speak, he's now in the spotlight and milking it every chance he gets.

It's called marketing and whatever it takes to get more eyeballs watching the fight.

After all the "trash talking" he does, now more people want to see if he can back it up, and even more UK boxing fans (Ricky's fans) want to see him get the crap beat out of him.

Bottom line is: $$$$$$ in the pockets of everyone involved.

Ricky seems to be a likable guy from what I've witnessed, and appears to be enjoying every moment.

I personally don't feel Floyd has any hate or animosity towards Ricky.

And when it's all said and done, they'll be hugging in the ring and showing each other respect, and probably even calling for a re-match.

Floyd has stated that he does a lot of trash talking to see if anyone can bring out the best in him.

Ricky is getting the chance of a lifetime to make that a reality or beat the crap out of him. Whichever is more convenient.

I wouldn't get my knickers all bundled up over it.

I say enjoy the fight and support your favorite fighter.

            Cheers, mate!

Hey MB, I really appreciate your posts. (All the time.) However, why explain something that should really be common sense to more adults? He knows this, as do most who understand marketing and strategy for a fight. This is not a beauty contest or Miss Congeniality pageant. IT'S A FIGHT!!!! Darn it, it's a fight. Wake up for goodness sake!

Go to the HBO offices in Rockefeller Center and ask Mark Taffet if Mayweather is good for boxing. He will slap you and throw you out of his office.

There is a reason that HBO commits the marketing expense and promotional muscle behind this kid. Not because they love his attitude or because they have any special affection for "Uncle Roger". They do it because it is in their own best interest, and in the best interet of the sport (very little difference there, btw).

HBO overpaid Mayweather FOR YEARS. They were "investing" in a product, and 2007 has been their payback year. They have a very nice ROI on him. Floyd was making 3 and 4 million dollars to fight guys like Corley and NDou. On regular HBO.

This year, HBO had record revenues and PPV buys. They will exceed 4 million buys without a viable heavyweight division. What is the common factor in their two biggest fights? They also were able to fill 8 weeks of programming time with a lower cost program that did well in the ratings (24/7). If you understand television economics, you know that production cost is a big deal. 24/7 costs the network a small fraction of what Rome or Carnivale would cost them. Or Entourage.

Let's face it: HBO is the media face of boxing. At this point, as goes HBO Boxing, so goes the sport.

                This was an idiotic question.

I feel he has some. Just like he has/had some animosity for Oscar.

He will hug Ricky. But it won't be genuine. That is who Floyd is.

                    Floyd doesn't like Ricky Hatton.

I'm sure they can search for an old thread about this god forsaken subject.

                      I guess it's too inconvenient.
