can merchant keep up with the action and the names, it seems lately merchant can't keep names straight and he can't spit out his thoughts fast enough, i like the old bean, but he's starting to show his age.

i personally don't care who is there calling the fight, but i think it would be a good fight for merchant to call.

i love Kellerman on the radio, he talks about boxing a lot and stuff and he does a great job there. but sometimes when he commentates he does a horrible job.

I think he'll get better after a little bit though

LOL at Kellerman loving Mayweather more than Mayweather.

Although I didn't know that, I suspected it when I watched Lampley and Steward talking at the Cotto/Mosley fight. Steward took the time to ask Kellerman whether he'd still consider Floyd the best even if he'd duck the winner of the bout. Kellerman said he would.

As much as I want Floyd to win this fight, I don't want to have a nuthugger commentator on the broadcast. Oh, God. Almost makes me wanna' see Hatton KO PBF just to hear a dramatic "NOOOOOOO!!!" from Kellerman as he storms into the ring and security restrains him. The camera switches to Larry Merchant (who's in the crowd) making his way to the commentator's table to take Kellerman's spot.

Lampley: "And now joining us, amidst all the chaos...is Larry Merchant. Larry, good to have you back with us."

Merchant: "Jim.......I think this can be considered.........as one of the most frenzy............chaotic moments........simultaneously in.....and out of the ring."

Steward: "Couldn't have it said better myself. That Kellerman is one crazy a** son of a bit**!"

PRICELESS. I would buy it just to see that live.

Merchant does that too. Probably moreso then any HBO analyst I've seen. He pretty much hates Hopkins and any other outboxer and won't shut the hell up about Pacquiao.

Still I like Larry better then Max, but I won't mind if Max does do it. It should be all 4 of them though (Jim, Larry, Max, and Manny)

Perhaps the funniest **** I've read on these boards.

The ..........'s almost made me spit out my Vanilla Coke. (Helps if you imitate his voice in your head while you read it)

I would like to see Merchant do this fight, but it seems HBO likes Max and want him to do a lot of fights now. I think give him awhile and he'll be ok, we've been so use to Larry over the years it's hard to not have him at an important fight on HBO.

                LOL that would be quality!!
I pray that Merchants gets this, I don't really like him to call any fight but a Mayweather fight oh dear....He clearly adores Mayweather.

That's HBO's way of saying they're going to give the big fights to Kellerman, while Merchant gets the scraps. Until Larry gets tired of it and quits.

They should give Merchant another chance, he was on top of his game for Pavlik vs Taylor with some memorable quotes "This must be a good fight Jim, I already have 5 drops of blood on my shirt", "Muscle memory strikes again", lol, etc.
