Larry Merchant was at the fight in Staples(Vargas/Mayorga)

My brother went to the fight last night and talked to Larry Merchant at the fight. I would have thought he would be at home watching the fight and that he was rooting for Vargas being his last fight.

They have diminished Larry's role and the are letting Kellerman help call the big fights now(Calzaghe vs Kessler, Cotto vs Mosley), this pisses me off.

Haha Merchant is a fight fan first and formost. He doesnt care if HBO approves or disapproves of his actions and comments.

I don't have the picture my brother took with Larry Merchant and i wouldn't post it unless he said i could. But when he should me a the picture he took with Merchant i was surprised. Not because it was really Larry Merchant, or because he looked differnt then he does when on tv. But Larry Merchant ain't that tall. My brother is about 5'7/8'9 and im a hair shorter then my brother at 5'7 and Merchant from the picture looks to be 5'5 maybe 5'4. I just thought he'd be taller. My brother did say Merchant was a cool person.

In my own opinion Merchant has been pushed out because he bashes the sport, the matchups, and the promotions live on the air during fights.
