    Double Standards

People say they hate Floyd Mayweather for consistantly claiming he is the greatest, the best of all time etc etc.
Yet at the same time, they praise Muhammad Ali, (who couldnt go 5 minutes without proclaiming his own greatness) for being a personality, and being good for the sport.
Floyd and Ali's methods for rising their stock as the greatest fighter of all time are exactly the same, yet one gets praised and the other gets ridiculed.

Hatton's camp reported that Ali had a "twinkle in his eye". I'd have to agree.

Minus the Joe Frazier stuff, the stuff Ali would say had substance. He wrote songs, proclaimed his greatness not matter-of-factly but in a way that came out almost comical.

Can't say the same about Mayweather Jr.

After he beat Sonny Liston he ran around the ring yelling he was the greatest of all time for about 10 minutes.

People forget that Ali was far more hated than any other fighter in boxing history.

I dont wanna debate this, this has gone into great detail plenty of times on this forum, and other forums...but most people really hated him because of the stuff he pulled with Vietnam and such. Different circumstances.

Easy-E is right. I don't have any problems with PBF claiming he is the greatest.

Well mayweather is undefeated so until someone shuts him up and beats him hes going to keep running his mouth and proclaim himself as the greatest.

That was only one reason, but it was really about his ****y attitude early in his career and the whole Cassius Clay to Muhammad Ali thing.
That was just adding on to the hate.
