This was somewhat of a ridiculous thread... Some people made some good points on the whole "Why didnt hatton fight cotto" . It really pisses me off when people doubt hatton as one of the very best, saying guys like Malignaggi could beat him. Ive seen both Ricky and Paulie in the ring and that fight just wouldnt go well for paulie.
As for Fighting Maussa, how in any way was this a bad choice? After the biggest fight of his carreer (Tsyzu) your not going to immediatly jump back up to that level of talent. Maussa was a win win situation, anothing win and another belt. Ricky may not be the number 1 guy in the division, but he will give hell to the likes of cotto or mosley and he sure is going to give floyd whats comin to him. Like i said he may not be #1, but the possibilities are endless for this guy. Never count him out.

maussa was the simplest task out there, and he still made it a bloody mess for hatton. that was a weak ass fight for hatton to take - maussa and urango - could you come up with 2 weaker champs in the history of the 140's?
