He is fighting a great fighter right now !

Floyds profile is higher now than when he fought Gatti or Baldy , I think Floyd will fight anybody that the masses really want , he is an enterprise as well as a fighter and they weigh up lots of things , you got to remember Floyd is not coming up anymore he is the one on top that makes a lot of difference as to who he fights , I think if Floyd beats Hatton his next fight will probably be Cotto as Cotto is getting the props and following he deserves and he is gaining momentum , if Mosley had of won Im sure he would have been next , Williams and Cintron are both top fighters but they are low profile ,, Cotto will be next if he fights again .

Floyd doesn't need to prove anything anymore, he will already go down as one of the greatest of all-time, but either retire, or fight Cotto if he beats Hatton. Those are really his options.

If he retires, I'd have no problem with it, but if he's gonna stick around at the twilight of his career, then fight the biggest and best like every other legendary fighter in boxing history, and win or lose you'll still be respected.

No other fight right now would bring Mayweather more money than a Cotto fight, end of story. All of this assuming Mayweather even gets by Hatton, which is far from a sure thing.

I actually disagree with most people and think Mayweather would need a Cotto fight more than Cotto would. Cotto can easily fight De la Hoya and make as much if not more money than a Mayweather fight, but who is Mayweather going to fight?

He already beat DLH, he has no other options other than Cotto, Cotto has plenty of options because he's an action fighter who people love to watch.

the fact that discussions like these are ALWAYS brought up when speaking of Floyd means he does and this isnt restricted to the internet. stop saying that, its already cliche and predictable.

Stop coppin please and admit that this is just another attempt by the Mayweather camp to preserve his record.
Floyd has been talking about retirement for a while now, and if he retires after the Hatton fight then no big deal.
However, if he takes a bull**** fight and then retires, I will be pissed and your argument will have leverage.

So you think because certian people who dont like Floyd on internet message boards create threads about how Floyd hasen't done enough in his career means that its true.
              This defies logic.

I dont know how much boxing youve been watching or how long youve been involved in the sport, but the ONLY time people question Floyds legacy is on message boards.
