I heard the fight revenues were very disappointing. The fact that HBO hasn't released the figures would seem to validate that.
So then who should be Floyd's next opponent keeping in mind that he's looking for someone who can do big numbers. Dont pussfoot around the question, drop a name and prove how he can do bigger than Cotto. DLH is out of the question.

You "believe" that it did 350K+ on the basis of what facts or data?

If it did 350K, why wouldn't HBO release the nums?? When Pacquiao regularly does 325-350K, HBO issues a press release. When MAB-EM does 330K, HBO issues a press release.

Heck, HBO released the nums when the initial tallies of Mayweather-Baldomir was 325K and they publicized when Nard-Winky came out at 305K.

Why would they even hesitate to beat their chests about Cotto doing 350K+++? Please answer that.

Answer: because Miguel did not do 350K. He did under 300K and the buys were a disappointment.

From a competitve and fan standpoint, Mayweather should ABSOLUTELY fight Cotto next.

That being said, my point remains that Miguel Cotto - despite three PPV's - is not a commercial draw. And I respectfully challenge anybody to prove otherwise.

All that talk from Team Mayweather is posturing. His options are very limited.

Cotto - the fight to make, but Miguel can't sell PPV's, And PBF hates TR.
        Williams - nobody knows him.
        Margarito - nobody knows him.
        Cintron - nobody knows him.
Spinks - like Cotto: can sell his local arena. Can't sell PPV's.
Oscar rematch - won't do 2 million, but would still do a mil plus.
Trinidad - Floyd is PRAYING that Tito beats Roy. He won't.

In any fight FMJ makes, he will be the "A" side. So he is just posturing. Just like he did when he "retired".

dude. mayweather is a business man. havent u watch 24/7. honestly mayweather is a gunius. all u ppl gettin worked ova this ****. his just stiring da pot so more ppl will demand the fight. its call demand and supply. the more ppl that wants the fight, the more money he'll get. all u ppl ventin ur anger out demandin da fight, it will come. relax!!

think about it. if cotto has a couple more big wins, then fightin him in the future will bring more money on the table then if he were to fight cotto after hatton. the longer mayweather waits, the more money he'll receive from all u ppl.

Hatton has a larger fan base than Cotto. PBF wanted Shane to win since he's the bigger name. Cotto needs to unify titles and then call him out, by then it should "make sense by making dollars".

I will take that bet if it were to happen right after this fight, it WON'T do as many numbers as PBF/Hatton, at least not right now. By this time next year is a totally different story.

Hahah! Yeah Cotto is no Guzman

But wait!? Mayweather is so commercially viable it doesn't matter who he fights...the $$ will be there because Mayweather needs nobody right??? So it should be irrelevant whom he fights...hmm

I think Floyd is hoping Miguel retires then he can pull a DLH and start caling a guy out and taking him to dinner (Tito) until the guy actually comes back then he stays silent... haha

Uh no. What's cliche and predictable is for every great fighter to put up with this BS like Roy Jones did. Retire now or later, he's already an alltimer, case closed. You're wrong, period.

"Mayweather isn't an alltime great fighter until he beats Margarito"

LOL...Daniel Santos and Paul Williams, alltime great fighters confirmed!

Margerito is a bum...he isnt worthy of fighting. baldimir. He is the only fighter in history that has a fan base...even after he got BEAT OUT OF THE JR MIDDLEWEIGHT DIVISION BECAUSE HE COULD NOT HANG. Then he moved down, not up, but down..who ever heard of that,,,and got beat by Williams.

I think that about sums up Margerito. As far as Mayweather, should he beat Hatton, to go down as a pound per pound all timer, he must make that fight with Cotto. Which I think he will do, and avoid Williams, as that is a bad match up for him, very bad match up.
