i dont see how there isnt any money in a juan diaz fight, but a david diaz fight is something that is soooo economically viable, david diaz is a bull**** alphabet titlist with virtually nothing to offer as far as legacy, hell win a worthless belt that hell likely vacate to setup a fight with the 130lbers who want a piece of him anyway. and if pac loses to diaz, then what?

you guys have to understand that it's mostly bob arum who's broadcasting these news about a david diaz fight. he's under top rank and it's an easier fight to make, w/ the most revenue for toprank. pac really hasn't made any decisions yet.

The problem with a Juan Diaz fight are conflict of interest between Arum and King.

If memory serves me correct Diaz' contract expires in mid 2008 and Arum and GBP will surely try to grab J. Diaz.

Money wise Pac and Arum will make far more money if D.Diaz was on the plate. It's all simple actually.

          No cuts. No revenue sharing.

          It's all Arum and Pac.

But all is not lost u know. It's not like Pac is going to retire anytime soon.

And he has said he would like to fight 3 times next year.

Let Pac get his tune-up at D.Diaz. Then finish off whatever is still hanging.

And let us all remember Pac is a flyweight who moved up and up the weight ladder. It's not like he's a natural something here.

This is a guy who came from Flyweight and dominated like no other.

When was the last time somebody did that?

If memory serves me correct... ERRR....

          NEVER.

Fighting David diaz isnt the same as finishing off the JMM situation..This is sad.

because JMM gave him a boxing lesson the last time they fought. he came back from being dropped 3 times and still kicked Pacs ass....that must do something to a fighter like Pac, hes thinking **** he just schooled this young gun named Rocky what will he do to me LOL.

Actually we can say the same to Fake FLoyd.

At least Pac's resume is a resume of ATG's.

What about Floyd with his Baldo, Gatti, Corley, Judah and a shot DLH.

                  Yehey!

but to stay on topic, if pac elects to fight david diaz, a beltholder with virtually no clout in the 135lb class, then i agree with the other poster in saying that Guzman vs JMM should decide who is the king at 130, because as far as im concerned, neither of these guys should have to get in line for anything, both of these guys have quality wins that put them at the top of the division easily, not just fighting guys they have already beaten for the sake of excitement.
Yeah they have quality wins and they may have belts, problem is, not a lot of people are willing to pay same amount of money watching them fight like watching Pac fighting any of those forementioned. So bottomline is, they should still need to fall in line in order to fight Pac for their biggest paydays. Just take a look, Juan Diaz, Marquez and David Diaz, they all have belts, but who are they longing to fight? It's Pac.
