Margarito has the punching power to beat Cotto, I'll agree. But, would he win? IMO the odds would favor Cotto. It would be a great fight though. That's the thing about Cotto; excitement. Cotto v. any top boxer is going to be exciting. I can make the same observation about Pavlik.

I see Williams having a much better chance with his tall frame and lengthy arms. I see Cotto beating both, Mosley tried to hit him from all angles, just like Margarito does and Cotto managed to block most of those shots. I also think Cotto's power and pressure are too intimidating, if he'd be able to get inside and trade with Williams he'd KO him, Margarito's a little more crafty stylewise but not as smart as Mosley.

Cotto would just turn the volume all the way down while he smacks the ribcage.

Let's stop with the bull**** already, Cotto wouldn't have trouble with Margarito at all, let's stop bringing up his name because it isn't going to happen, and if it ever does, it was a waste of time.

Only worthy opponents I see right now are Mayweather and Hatton.

i agree, granite chin busy workrate or not, these people that just saw cotto box mosley to a win had know clue he could, all they see is the corley torres and judah fights and they think they know the remedy.cotto brawls with boxers and boxes with brawlers, thats what mosley wanted, what he tried to do,and why he failed.

I wonder how Cotto would react to Hatton's movement, but Cotto is just too big for Hatton to try pressure. He was able to bully Castillo inside because he was much quicker and stronger. He'll have a small speed advantage over Cotto and that's it. It would have been nice to see at 140.

Margarito on the other hand would give Cotto a lot of trouble.

I dont see how Margarito would have a chance really. Paul Williams was able to stand right in front of him and punch at will, Cotto would be able to do the same, yet punch with more power.

These volume punchers would just leave themselves open to shots for Cotto and after a while they'll slow down. It's shouldn't be a problem for Cotto.
