He just mentioned sparring partners. The two most known ones. Big deal? I'm sure they have partners with a variety of styles. Those are just the passed "world" champions.
Floyd using Ndou and Baldomir as sparring partners. WTF?

No my friend. Floyd had a scheduled HBO ppv date, and no opponent. He was desperately scrambling to find a worthy opponent, all the while, Margarito was the ONLY person who was ready and willing. Floyd got turned down by Oscar. Shane had ALREADY claimed that he would take the rest of the year off following his rematch with Vargas. He even went as far as trying to get sleep inducing SPINKS in the ring, but HBO turned that one down. His only chance of not facing Margarito, was if Baldo beat Gatti, and he did, but it was a risky. So like i've said numerous times. What would Floyd had done if Gatti beat Baldi? Would he have just canceled his PPV date, just so he wouldnt have to face Margarito?
Listen, all hate aside, Floyd did not want to get in the ring with Margarito for whatever reason it may have been.Last edited by deevel79; 11-20-2007, 07:50 PM.Comment

Those are pretty darn good sparring partners myself. Only thing missing with those guys is the movement (shoulders, body, head, hands) and the herky jerky speed. But pretty darn good if i must say so myself.
hatton's got:
stevie forbes
rock allen
karl dragan
...which is pretty good also.Comment

When Hatton has to make the light-welter limit he comes into the ring at 149-150 so it would be ****** for him to be any lighter. He will be around 149 at fight night which is his optimal weight Floyd will be around 149 also.Comment

I believe he would have to fight Margarito at that point but i dont blame him for waiting for his options before deciding, He had Cintron( public outcry at the time),Spinks (2 counterpunches= Boring) and Margarito available including Baldomir "if" he beats gatti.
If i remember clearly he fought Judah in april and had a date for HBO ppv he had 5 months to look for an acceptable opponent, People(Doug fischer) were trying to bullying him into fighting Margarito when he could have waited 5 months before commiting himself to any fight..Which end up being Baldomir the MAN at 147.
Hatton on the other hand avoid Witter like a bad case of cold, because Hatton is loved over here people kind of sidestep it here in the U.K..if anybody else had done that we wouldnt have heard the end of it.Comment

if his favorite fighter is Margarito, thats actually an interesting question. Baldomir's win over Judah is better than any of Margarito's individual wins, but Margarito had a better overall career in my eyes. also, Margarito still has a ways to go in his career, and could pick up some pretty good wins if his opponent's style fits.Comment
