There is plenty of talent in Eastern Europe, I will list the my top Eastern European Heavyweights:

    -Wladimir Klitschko - The Champ
-Vitali Klitschko - hoping he comes back and dominates.
-Ruslan Chagaev - very tough fighter, dangerous southpaw, champ
-Sultan Ibragimov - great handspeed and footwork, champ
-Oleg Maskaev - punches like a mule, very good technical boxer
    -Alexander Povetkin - future champion
-Nikolai Valuev - freakshow, Iron Jaw
-Sergei Lyakhovich - very underrated and skilled
-Vladimir Virchis - one of the hardest punchers in the division
-Alexander Dimitrenko - 6,7 powerful skilled Heavyweight
-Dennis Boytsov - future champion, reminds me of Tyson
-Taras *****ko - young up and coming, he's got skills
-Oleg Platov - undefeated up and coming, skills

And The Prospects keep on coming and coming...............

I agree, the divison is in good shape. Wladimir Klitschko just makes them look like bums while he's pounding them.

I agree with the thread starter. Sometimes a fighter can only be as good as his trainer. Prime example .Mike Tyson. He had natural punching power, however, he was moulded by cuz, Atlas, and Rooney.

Right you are .The talent is there but its just not being utilized by the sub standard trainers.

The biggest problem with the hw division IMO is:

The big name fighters do not fight frequently enough. Since Klitschko has captured the IBF title he’s been fighting twice per year. How the hell can you get interested and excited when the champ only fights twice per year? It’s like waiting for your birthday and your favorite holiday during the year. WBC champion Oleg Maskaev hasn’t even fought once this year! WTF, how can fans get into this weight division when the top fighters fight so seldom? And what about Ruslan Chagaev? He’s only fought once this year!...

I could go on and on, but you guys get my point. The top fighters do not fight frequently enough against only top fighters. It’s simple as that….

Wlad will be that one champ by February 2008. Chagaev's promoter Klaus-Peter Kohl is already discussing a 2nd unification match with Chagaev taking on the winner of Wlad vs Sultan. Hopefully we get to see Wlad vs Chagaev in the summer too.

Almost entirely because they can make more money as a rookie in the NFL than most of the veteran, top-tier boxers make in a fight. Boxing is a slow process to the top, and young kids just don't have the patience to wait for anything anymore.
you know, I'm getting tired of hearing that asinine statement time after time..

What makes you think that a Good boxer would be a good football / basketball player, or vise-versa??

That's like saying there aren't any good swimmers because everyone plays tennis?

Just because you're BIG, doesn't mean you're a good boxer or a good basketball player...
There aren’t any American up and coming because they lose to someone better in the making.. as did Brock, and will Chambers…
