Hatton is susceptible to body punches but Mayweather is hardly renowned for his body punching, is he?

Thank you for understanding & describing my point better than i did.

I also think Floyd could become exposed to the BACK of the rib cage behind his arms when he drops his shoulder to roll out of a headshot.

I see a scenario where Hatton will throw right outswinging punches to the head, of course Floyd will do his usual drop of the right shoulder, this will leave his rear rib cage exposed to Hattons left hook coming in the back door.

lol, Mayweather is no Gatti, you're ****** too think it is simple like that to beat him.

To do what you are saying, you need to be faster than Floyd, and Hatton isn't. It will be more like that :

        euhh.. no

If Hatton throw a right outswinging punche to the head and miss, Floyd will throw a clean counter right on him. That's why I say you need to be faster than FLoyd. And IF you're faster than him, ( like Judah ), Floyd adapt himself and don't use the shoulder roll defense, he uses the peek-a-boo style.

Why do you need to be faster than him? If Mayweather is blocking one punch it leaves him open to another which would therefore means speed has little to do with landing the desired punch.

Floyd uses his elbow and upper bicep to deflect bodyshots in his "philly shell" defense to deflect left hooks to the body, and holds his left hand low and protects his body from right hooks with his whole arm.

Because he doesn't only block the punch, he throws a counter right hand if you miss the right hand you threw. So if you want to have the time to land a left hook after you're counter right hand that just missed, you need to be really fast because you'll take a punch right in your face.

But I respect your opinion and the one of F.O.S, I hope we'll remember that discussion after the fight to talk about it again.

Thats true, but Floyd did knock out Sharmba Mitchell out with a body shot, which is the only time Mitchell has been knocked out by a body shot.
Granted its not much, but the point is that if Floyd established a body attack early it could significanlty change the course of the fight.

If you change tact and connect with a shot upstairs Mayweather's instinct is to raise his other glove to his face as though anticipating a combo to the head and thus exposes that side of his body.
