I have a hard time thinking Mayorga weighs 156 given that he needed to use an illegal diuretic to make 154 for the Oscar fight. Maybe a few more beers and some turkey will get him to 166. A Thanksgiving Day weigh in might add 20 pounds to vargas, haha. Just remember, Fernando doesn't want to fight anymore. You could tell in the 2nd Mosley fight. If he can't dust Mayorga quick then I think he goes into survival mode or he takes a big overhand right on the chin and gets counted out

I dont think Vargas is the type of guy to go out losing. He wants this bad, and he will win by KO.

Let us not forget that Vargas was once a very skilled fighter. He had good defense and that just doesn't disappear overnight. IMO, he was mishandled and had personal problems for most of his career. That's just speculation on my part, but that's how I feel. He was on his way to becoming a superstar in the sport, and then he ran into Tito and was just never the same.

The DLH fight screwed him up too. It really messed with his pride and I don't think he's ever recovered from that loss and the fact that he used steroids for that fight. Now, with that said, he could be back on the juice because maybe he just doesn't give a **** anymore. I think he used to care about his image and how he portrayed himself, but that may not be the case nowadays.

I still say he beats Mayorga rather easily. Mayorga is a club fighter.
