Floyd was killing himself to make weight? Dude weighed 138 while Chico was at 147. Floyd went to LW and only gained a pound. Every fight he had at LW he came in at 139 on fight night.

You call me a floyd ball licker but all you do is make threads bashing him so what does that say about you, clown

For me the most obvious disparity is that Floyd doesn't seem to quite share the same competitive thirst that Leonard had - He's a little more cautious than Leonard and in that regard it was Leonards balls and championship heart that got him through his best and toughest fight with Hearns in the first encounter.

The only comparison where the comparison can start is skill level. Everything else about the two respective careers...people can stop comparing.
I am indeed, I am not particularly touched by seeing Mayweather described as a businessman. What puzzles me is people forgetting that Leonard was THE businessman (rematches, negotiations...).

As I stated my positon on the two is that right now Leonard is above Mayweather (Duran, Hearns, Hagler, Benitez...), but if Mayweather beats Hatton and Cotto, I'll SURELY switch rankings. When they will see Cotto in the ring, next to Mayweather, and the size difference, I hope some more people will understand why.

We can discuss this in detail later this week (by PM maybe, so we dont get sidetracked?), cos I got a lot of work to do tonight. I look forward to debate this with you.

        Ciao!

I read that too (I think i heard it in an interview after a fight).

But given his size, I think that the meaning is that he was not comfortable making the weight, if he really could not make it, it would have shown at weigh ins, in the ring and so on.

I am sure he could not make 130 for 2-3 years now, but that's NOW. I am sure Leonard could not make 47 by 85-86.

You guys have to understand something. What does floyd not being able to make weight at the end of his 130 pound campaign have to do with anything? When I talk about those other fighters Im talking about them doing it from the very jump. Floyd fought at 130 for a long time so if he had to move up then thats natural and ok. Im talking about those other guys who kill themselves to go way down at a weight where they shouldnt be. Thats why I said that would be like Floyd trying to start off at 118 or something. Your talking about 2 different things. The guys at WW have always been huge from the jump and there still fighting at that weight while showing no signs of moving up. Thats way different then Floyd

SRL ran BUT still threw flurries, still packed enough power to back someone up. Can you REALLY say that about Floyd?
