I don't see the logic.

Claiming your opponent is a C class fighter is strange.......for several reasons.

1. If Floyd does win impressively, people will point to how he admitted himself that he beat a C class fighter.

2. That doesn't sound like the greatest way to hype a fight does it? By telling the public that you're going to participate in a four part reality/documentary show on H.B.O. with your C class counterpart in this "mega" fight.

3. So let me get this straight, if Hatton wins........that would mean by Floyd's own admissions that he lost to a C class fighter.

It's the same as saying "you suck I am going to beat you" because I SAY you suck does that mean the consensus is you suck(which obviously you don't)? Does the consensus think Ricky is a C-class fighter because Floyd said so? Floyd says he is the greatest of all time does that make it true? Why do people selectively comment on what he says is so odd to me.

To tell you the truth, I just evaluate him by his performance in the ring and the quality of his opponents. That's how I've arrived at a critical judgment of Floyd. I'm used to fighters running their mouths....nothing new about that.

It's all about talking smack to get in the other fighers' heads. I never heard Ali give credit to anyone he was fighting, he called George Foreman a slow dope, he called frazier a fool...
