I need to ask somebody old to read this site and others to see all the hate PBF get for calling himself the GOAT. I will ask them was a young Cassius Clay and Ali this hated and judged for making that same claim. If he says no then all the hate PBF receives to me will seem like bull****. But if he says Ali was hate on that much then I will have no more problems with some of the **** people say about him.

You're right, the balance a boxer must strike is between making good fights and lucrative fights. It is unrealistic, if not unreasonable, to expect boxers to fight in tough matches all the time but it is patronising to talk yourself up when the quality of your opponent and/or the quality of your work does not back these claims up.

The hate isn't for calling himself the greatest it's for not backing it up.

Everyone wanted Floyd to Fight Osacr at one point. Everyone he fights will be downplayed.

I thought the Corrales fight would be really tough

For and some others that maybe true but not for all. Also its not always PBF's fault that certain fights didn't get made but majority of the time he receives all the blame.

Not only that Tredh, but it also has alot to do with what he says he will do come fight night, and what he actually does. Its like waiting to see the most anticipated movie of the year, then when u finally get to see it, you're like "all that waiting for this ****"

It has to be expected. Anybody who is good at anything has to accept the scrutiny and jealousy that comes with the territory. I personally think it is a small price to pay.

If we want to see the best fight the best, we as fans have to be willing to spend money to make these fights lucrative for the fighters.

This is the reason Mayweather would take the risk to fight DLH in a division he doesn't belong in, but won't waste his time with a guy like Margarito who many people don't even know. This is why Mayweather will fight Hatton next and not fight Cotto. This is a sport, but it is also a business.
anyone who could write this is not a real boxing fan. its the cowards and businessman that are afraid to fight the best that is killing the sport for the fans. we dont need no businessman in boxing.

There's nothing wrong with it really, its a problem invented by impoverished mexican boxing fans

There wouldnt be the most money involved in those fights if the fans didnt want to see it.

At the same time, dont pretend like it makes you the greatest of all time.
