Froch will lose to Inkin anyway.

Why is Froch a joke when compared to Ashira, Veit, Pudwill, Manfredo Jr and Bika?

I like Calzaghe as much as the next nut hugger but Froch is a legitimate challenger to his WBC title, he deserves a shot.

Because Joe only wants to fight 2 more fights and needs to make as much money as possible fighting a big, well known, name not some guy with no belt. Plus Joe's already said he has too hard a time making super middle any more and wants to fight at light heavy.

It looks like the Hopkins fight isn't going to come off. Whether it's Calzaghe's caution, his promoter's ineptitude or 'nard's reluctance to fight a younger guy, who knows. Apart from Hopkins, there aren't many viable options for Calzaghe, thus Froch is a possibility, not a great fight for Joe to take, but certainly no joke.

He weighed in at 167lb against Kessler and looked fine. Fighting at LH is just an attempt to 'authenticate' his legacy. People deride his career as it has been confined to ONE division, a division that hasn't been loaded with great talent since the mid-90's.

How did you come to that conclusion? Its been two weeks since the Kessler fight, and you think everything should be signed and dated in that time for a Calzaghe/Hopkins fight?

Hopkirk, do you really want for Calzaghe to keep knocking off every European who works his way up the rankings at 168? He's been doing that for ten years. Sure Froch is as legit as most of his former contenders, but that's the problem right there. It's not like moving up after Hopkins or Dawson.

I'd disagree - he should have fought at LHW years ago as that's where he'd be stronger. People mention his weak hands causing his loss of power but I'd put a lot down to struggling to make weight for so long.

As for Froch, he's legitimate if he beats Inkin. Not the best in terms of legacy but would certainly trouble Calzaghe, and is probably all that's left at SMW

21 consecutive successful title defences against opponents with a combined record of 579-43 authenticates his legacy enough in my book. Jeff Lacy, an undefeated world champ at the time, was a favorite against Joe, and when Joe DOMINATED him, he still got no credit. How much credit is he supposed to get beating an unknown european non champ?

I'd love Calzaghe to send 'nard to the retirement home, but will it happen? Remember the "I want Tarver, Taylor or Hopkins" after the Lacy fight? What Calzaghe wants isn't always what his promoter gets him.

Dawson won't fight Calzaghe in Wales (although he's fought in the UK before) so that fights a no go.
