Does Mayweather have the chin to take Hatton's punches?

I've seen a lot of discussion in build up to this fight, most of it the same. It's either Hatton's pressure will be too much for Floyd, or Floyd's style will embarass Ricky. One thing I haven't seen discussed at all, is Floyd's chin. When people think of Hatton they think of relentless body punching, but Hatton is known for ripping the head with hooks after he digs into your body with combinations.

I know it's a "longshot" in most "experts" eyes to think that Hatton could land a punch flush on Mayweather, but I don't think it's that unlikely.

My question is : Does Mayweather have the chin to take Hatton's head shots?

The last time I saw Mayweather hurt by a punch was in May of 2004 against Demarcus Corley (who has a reputation for being able to hurt anybody). Since then I've never seen Floyd eat a punch flush, not even against Oscar De La Hoya. He ate some solid shots from Oscar but he rolled with them to take some of the snap off of them.

So if Ricky catches Floyd with a punch Floyd does not see coming, and cannot roll away from, will Floyd's chin be able to take it?

I think he does. Because you are usally could do what you trained to do. and from the training he doesn I see him does those exercise with the neck strap. That is why I was suprised at the end of the 12th round in DHL he took some clean shots.

I say no, that being said, it's going to be tough for Ricky to catch Floyd flush. But 12 rounds is a LONG time.

As long as no one shows that they cant do anything to Floyd I'm gonna pick him to beat everyone he faces.

Yeah I remember that in the early rounds, Floyd was trying to come in and Judah countered I believe. But I think Mayweather was stunned more so than hurt. I'm talking leg draining power shots.

No. Zab did not hurt Mayweather.

Corely hurt Mayweather, Chavez hurt Mayweather, Judah did not.

That was more being off-balance than actually being hurt.

i agree. that being said Cotto would def beat Floyd up to win a UD. I wont say KO cuz Floyd knows how to survive.
