I'd actually love to see this and think it should happen, but after Cotto admitted that he deliberately ran from Mosley, I'm not sure if this performance demands it in the context of Cotto questionably being an equal fighter who is super dangerous to where Floyd needs to prove something. Paul Williams is a lot more difficult imho..
Paul williams is more difficult, I agree, but cotto has earned a shot.

Nah, the serious whupping Margarito put on Cintron and holding his own with Williams does enough. Obviously he needed a tune-up fight after losing to Williams.

Ya, Cotto should be fighting the winner of Floyd-Hatton.

I agree with Steward, but if Floyd fights Paul Williams than that would be acceptable.

Williams is a worse style matchup than Cotto. At least Cotto is around the same size as Mayweather. Williams arms are so long that he'll be hitting Floyd when he steps out of his dressing room. The only way Floyd gets a pass on fighting Cotto is if he fights Williams. The Floyd faithfull will also excuse him if he avoids everybody altogether and rematches DLH.

This all occurs if he gets past Ricky Hatton, which is no small task.
