am i the only person who thinks this fight is a waste of time i dont want to see an old man that throws 12 punches a round get his ass kicked by the great joey cal.

theres much better fighters out there for joe to fight like if RJJ looks good against tito i would rather see RJJ vs JC at least Roy wold have a small chance aganst joe

So when he said on TV last night he'd fight in the US for a Hopkins fight he was lying then? Wow, thanks for the insight. :wank:

True, Calzaghe looked pretty convincing when he said he would gladly go to the US to fight Hopkins. To me it doesn't matter anymore, but I would rather see that actually, just for a change to see how Cal would fight out there. That's just a minor issue of cource because we all just want to see Calzaghe get that W vs Hopkins which will help his legacy even more.

This from Hopkins who has never left the States?

So, to make this fight with another genuine Champion who would likely be the favourite in the fight, Hopkins wants venue, date AND purse?

I hope that Calzaghe gives him them all and goes over and beats him anyway.

Im sure Calzaghe will be devastated by this statement, coming from a frequent traveller like Hopkins.

"When he steps off the plane I’m going to be wearing my Yankee Doodle Dandy red-white-and-blue uniform, just like Apollo Creed, with James Brown’s Coming to America playing on the speakers, and I’ll show Joe what being world champion means, for I am the personification of the American Dream.”

Alzheimers plagueing you Bernard? Remember what happened to Apollo Creed in that fight? He lost his LIFE.

Bernard Hopkins was a great fighter, but he is a moron. I hope Calzaghe fights someone more deserving than a 42 year old teenager who promised his dead mom that he'd stop fighting before he turned 40. Turns out he's still getting in the ring, but a least he's not doing much fighting when he gets in there....

What worried me and people seem to have missed it here, is Hopkins demanding a 60-40 split. How is that gonna sit with Joe's big pay day demand (which he deserves)?

If this was 5 years ago,I would have loved to see this fight...now,no.
What would this fight prove?...nothing,B-Hop is 2-2 in his last 4 fights and 42 years old.

Maybe Calzaghe can get Sugar Ray to come out of retirement. As for RJJ,same thing as B-Hop.
How about taking on a young buck like Pavlik?
