I don't think it is the same issue though... P4P is a ranking, not a championship. You don't have to defend your ranking, so you shouldn't be able to lose it because you don't fight the (non-existant) #1 contender. However, a flaw in The Ring's championship policy is that there is no mandatory challenges, so Manny was basically saying that it is incumbent on Floyd to fight Cotto, since he is ranked #1 behind Mayweather.

It probably won't happen though, unless The Ring changed their policy.

P4p is an OPINIONATED ranking. Calling yourself the 'p4p champ' is in no way factual. It's all based on opinion.

I don't understand your post. Either way p4p or The Ring's Champ, it's all opinion. Did I miss something? Steward just basically called out Floyd and publicly stepped on him if he ducks Cotto. It was a great moment for boxing because Floyd finally got pegged.

Well I was saying that you have defend a championship, but you don't have to defend a #1 ranking... You can't defend your P4P status, just like the person who beats the #1 P4P fighter doesn't become the P4P #1.

Wiley, you keep talking about what Manny said but what about what Max said back? Why is Manny right but Max isnt? Max said that Manny was wrong and Floyd clearly is the guy. Also, why is Cotto the next in line? Cintron and Williams also have belts. Alot of people think that Margarito & Clottey would beat Cotto. Mosley and Zab are good wins but I think all of those other guys I named are considered bigger wins right now
