If Hatton pulls an upset and its because he holds and hit Mayweather

I personally feel Ricky Hatton clinches too much, he IS a warrior but it's a well known fact that in Boxing if you clinch too much you get penalized and eventually disqualified so it befuddles me to see a guy that holds as much as Ricky Hatton not get penalized, he should have gotten disqualified against Collazo and a few other heads. he doesn't always beat you with his punches he uses his body to lean on you and wear you down, he punches you and before you can even begin to formulate an attack he already grabbed you 3 seconds ago, it's kind of unfair when you think about it..
If Floyd lets himself fall victim to that then it's his fault, there is enough tapes to study regarding Ricky Hatton to hold him down, Floyd is a good enough Boxer to find his rhythm and make his mark, Ricky however SHOULD be called out by a referee for his clinching, in the Collazo fight it was grabbing and holding that let him survive which is not a criteria to win a fight, he was just holding on for dear life HOPING to not get knocked out and even still he took MANY shots that made people feel he really lost, the more I take into consideration Ricky's holding the more I feel he will crumble, he rely's on a penalty to win some fights, it's a penalty too yo just look at Ruiz-Jones Jr and you'll see what I mean, clinching is NOT a fighting style and for Hatton it's the base of his whole arsenal..
he drove that poor dude Urango crazy with all that holding, i was beginning to feel sorry for dude who was a champion and undefeated, he was rying to fight back and Ricky just held his way on to a victory, I ain't no Floyd nuthugger reserving hate for Hatton because I respect Hatton more than you so called fans do but I call **** like I see it, if he didn't hold so much I wouldn't be able to say these things but he DOES and it shows crystal clear.. I would have no problem with it if he didn't win fight's based on that **** but he LITERALLY won fights due to his holding, there is no Boxing skill in clinching and it down plays his whole fight game overall, I STILL respect the **** out of him but he DOES clinch too much. I would say people have a right to complain if he does what he did to Collazo to Floyd but if he comes in like he did against Jose Luis Castillo then only a hater would **** on Hatton, he would deserve it but if it's another Collazo fight I will be mad.. not in defense of Floyd but I'll be spending 54$ for a holding fest, I don't know about you guys but that would royally piss me off.. 100Comment

if mayweather fans are classless enough to blindly support him, then they will of course make excuses if or when he loses, regardless of the credibility of said excuses.
mayweather and his fans have at least one thing in common: they're delusional.
even if ricky hatton doesnt clinch at all and beats the ever loving snot out of floyd (doubtful), theres no way his "thug" fans are gonna have enough class to call the loss legit and give hatton credit.Comment

I stress to not just you but ALL people on here that I actually like Ricky Hatton, I always backed him up when other's called him a Wrestler, I always pointed out his good attributes like his great in-fighting, his great power and his good footwork that allows him to strike from so many different angles.. I can go on for a while because Hatton has A LOT of good features but he clouds it ALL by holding so much, it's hard to credit him for these things when every 20 seconds the ref has to break them up, it isn't because of his opponent neither it's because Hatton chooses to hold that much. like I said before I call **** down the line and if he didn't hold so much I couldn't say these things, clinching is something you do when you in trouble not when you clearly have a lead, Hatton STILL clinches even if he has a lead just to preserve it, his initial instinct to clinch ****s him up and it will back fire on him one day, MAYBE Dec. 8th.. 100Comment

Huh?
He instigates nearly ALL of the holding in his fights. He jumps into you, throws a punch, grapples/holds/wrestles, then pushes off and throws another punch.
That's his style, it's annoying as hell to watch (Urango fight was ridiculous), and the reason there's any holding is BECAUSE OF RICKY HATTON.
I wish people would stop making excuses for him. He holds like crazy. Look at the fights of any of his opponents with other boxers. There's not nearly as much holding as when they step into the ring with Hatton.
It should be penalized. And like the other poster said, Hatton has won fights due to his holding. Not his skills or whatever. He just grabs grabs grabs his way to victory.
As a comparison. Look at Hatton-Castillo. Then look at Castillo-Corrales. One was a wrestling match. The other was a classic phone booth war.

I know this ain't no Fight Night game but it gives you insight to why what Hatton does can be considered unfair to his opponents, he doesn't give them a chance to fight back and he's not using skills to do it, he's using a penalty, a penalty because he does it even when he doesn't need to use it.. I don't doubt that Ricky can fight a Castillo fight against Floyd and keep the pressure up but he needs to be called out and forced to fight a fair fight because all the holding isn't fair, there's no adversity to overcome when you holding like you'll fall if you let go.. 100Comment

Well, he fights like that style in every fight he fights. How come Mayweather fans accept the way he beat Castillo, Tzsyu, but won't accept it if he fights the same way as he beat the other boxers? Hypocrites? I mean wtf is that crap, Mayweather fans respect him because Hatton has beat some great boxers but the way he hugged them then hit them hard with body shots. And now, Mayweather fans will make excuses if he fights the same style he fights every other opponent he has beaten?Comment
