That's his style, it's annoying as hell to watch (Urango fight was ridiculous), and the reason there's any holding is BECAUSE OF RICKY HATTON.

I wish people would stop making excuses for him. He holds like crazy. Look at the fights of any of his opponents with other boxers. There's not nearly as much holding as when they step into the ring with Hatton.

It should be penalized. And like the other poster said, Hatton has won fights due to his holding. Not his skills or whatever. He just grabs grabs grabs his way to victory.

As a comparison. Look at Hatton-Castillo. Then look at Castillo-Corrales. One was a wrestling match. The other was a classic phone booth war.
You can't compare every fight to Castillo v Corrales. For the record, I enjoyed the Hatton v Castillo fight until Hatton broke Castillo's ribs and ended it. I find you comments slightly ludicrous. If Hatton didn't have any skills he wouldn't be a two weight world champion.

Hatton is not a two-weight world 'champion.' He is THE World champion at 40; he won a belt at 47. THE champ at 47 is Mayweather. Conversely, PBF was never world anything at 40; he won a belt.

I know this ain't no Fight Night game but it gives you insight to why what Hatton does can be considered unfair to his opponents, he doesn't give them a chance to fight back and he's not using skills to do it, he's using a penalty, a penalty because he does it even when he doesn't need to use it.. I don't doubt that Ricky can fight a Castillo fight against Floyd and keep the pressure up but he needs to be called out and forced to fight a fair fight because all the holding isn't fair, there's no adversity to overcome when you holding like you'll fall if you let go.. 100

They are both equally as good at winning, hence how they've both only ever won.

Hatton fights VERY TIGHT more than he hits and holds. If you cant see this, I dont know what to tell YOU.

Many very strong professional referees have reffed his fight and none of them have disqualified him yet. So as much as you'd like to fancy yourself as being a better judge of what is or isnt illegal than them, fact is that you arent.

The next time Harold Lederman says something you disagree with I will remind you of this comment, because this is verbatim what he said about Hatton in the Castillo fight.

Wow. I can't believe somebody used FIGHT NIGHT ROUND 3 to support their argument about the real sport of boxing!

Anyway I hope we have a good fight tonight between Shane Mosely and Miguel Cotto. I hear the winner gets a Dodge Caliber as well as the Burger King belt.

even if ricky hatton doesnt clinch at all and beats the ever loving snot out of floyd (doubtful), theres no way his "thug" fans are gonna have enough class to call the loss legit and give hatton credit.
The question is will you remove Ricky Hatton from your favourite fighter list? I've noticed whoever loses that 0 you remove him from your list.

I feel if hatton wins its because he worked hard and was the better man that night. there will be no excuses but like always someone will use the hit and hold as an excuse.

How can they complain, when Floyd throws his usual elbows every fight, then pushes off with his left elbow to open up room to punch, then gets the usual gift from the judges for his "boxing."
