I don't question Mayweather's status, but Mayweather's win over Gatti was the most overrated performance I've ever heard about. To me as a win it was just like Austin-Klitschko (which was also a phenomenal but meaningless display of skill and athleticism by one guy), but on here people made it sound like Leonard-HaglerComment

its mostly because nobody expected floyd to stand in front of him, everyone including myself was shocked because when did you ever see gatti go toe toe with him for 6 rounds and gatti didint land a single signifigant punch, it was also the fight that put floyd over the hill in terms of superstardom, gatti wasnt an a class fighter, but it was the performance itself that people were impressed by. overrated yes, but for floyd he needed that fight badly to put him at the ppv level hes at now.I don't question Mayweather's status, but Mayweather's win over Gatti was the most overrated performance I've ever heard about. agreed.. we get around 30+ threads on the fight....Over the past few weeks we have seen "Kelly Pavlik is the hardest hitting MW ever" and "Joe Calzaghe should supercede Mayweather at number 1 on the p4p list and would demolish RJJ prime for prime" and although you could make cases for both they still show how after a good victory some fans become cum-drunk. Let's acess the fighters victory accordingly and chill out with all the outlandish statements, they just make some of us look foolish.Comment

Yes, the nut riding on here is explosive. The response Joe got for beating some overrated bum from Denmark was astounding. Hopefully the same doesn't happen in reference to Cotto or Mosley, as both are great fighters and don't need to be **** rode in order to be recognized.Over the past few weeks we have seen "Kelly Pavlik is the hardest hitting MW ever" and "Joe Calzaghe should supercede Mayweather at number 1 on the p4p list and would demolish RJJ prime for prime" and although you could make cases for both they still show how after a good victory some fans become cum-drunk.
