Wasn't HBO really overrating the Kessler/Calzaghe fight?

It's not even in my top 10 fights of year.
Of course the fight was overhyped! Along with the people who fought..

The fight was a really great fight, that was competitive throughout. I liked Calzaghe's ring entrance, and how packed that place was. You should watch it in High Def.

It was an excellent fight and great would depend on how you define it. Skill wise, it was as good a violent chess match as boxing has seen in quite a few years.

To me it was a good fight but not like Stewart & Lampley would have you believe. This fight was needed for boxing anyway because it established JC as the man in the division.

No. I wouldn't call Marquez-Vasquez chess; I was thinking of Cal-Kess as a fight in the vein of Whitaker-McGirt (either of them) where the skill was so high as to present the best of both worlds. Marquez-Vasquez reminded me more of Ramirez-Rosario.

This is the answer. In regards to skill-level only DLH-Mayweather can touch it. As far as a 'fight' it was only average.
