Wasn't HBO really overrating the Kessler/Calzaghe fight?

  • Wasn't HBO really overrating the Kessler/Calzaghe fight?

I just watched it for the second time, I don't think it was all that great, I don't know what Lampley and Stewrad was on, it was a decent fight but not a great fight.

It's not even in my top 10 fights of year.

Kessler is one of the most dangerous fighters at super middle. Calzaghe stood toe to toe with him and neatralised his advantage with clever use of angles and movement. Yes he got caught and yes he went in with his hands down, that just makes for an exciting fight. Any time you see a boxer perform like Calzaghe did that night it is a great fight.

they might have been a little carried away because of the theatrics and atmosphere of the event, but it was a great fight because you a very skilled fighter on top of his game against a serious threat.

In regards to skill level, it was a great fight. Entertainment value it was very good imo.

I thought it was a better fight too at first, after watching it the second time I foundout it wasn't all that great. Marquez/Vsquez II was a great fight, I've seen it 4 times already and everytime I enjoy it, also Taylor/Pavlik was a great fight.

It's not the greatest fight of the year, but that's not fair when you consider how good of a boxing year it's been. At this rate, Hatton/Mayweather might actually be entertaining...

Stu............ It was a UNIFICATION fight.... Something rare in today's world.. between 2 Grade A fighters.. Who prolly somewhat negated eachother..

Like maybe an article on here said.. Not the fight or fighters of the year.. But perhaps the performance of the year...

Dr. Skelter it might've been the performnace of the year but definitely not a great fight, I just don't like the way Stewrad and Lampley were telling me it was a great fight.
