I posted on this subject a while back. Here's my post & what I was able to find:

I did some research to find the exact reason why Quartey was inactive from his fight with Jose Luis Lopez (Oct.1997) to DLH (Feb.1999). What I found was that he was scheduled to fight Sweet Pea on 4/25/98 but Pea tested positive for coke & that fight was scrapped. Quartey was then matched up to fight the guy Pea beat in his previous fight but Quartey refused to sign the contract to fight that guy. He then went into negotiations & signed a contract to fight Tito in 98' but was sued by Main Events (I believe they had options on him) so that fight was halted & Quartey was offered the DLH fight. Ike had been out of commission for a over a year but was rumoured to be VERY sharp in training for the DLH fight. DLH then had an "injury" & the fight was pushed back & Quartey was out of action for almost a year an a half.

I also think Quartey would stop Tito is his prime. I don't think Tito would be able to get past that jab & unlike Winky, Quartey would stop him if the opportunity presented itself.

i dont think so i think there would have been in exchange during the fight that would have turned it[like most of tito's big fights]i think ike would have been winning but at some point he catches a tito left hook and tito finishes him.

Quartey like to exchange punches in the middle of the ring not like Winky Tito by KO, left hook

i think that tito gets beaten rather easily.. quartey was just an absolute beast at welter. not that tito wasnt, but tito wouldve gotten beaten.. jab jab jab.. tito has no answer for it.. ike also had a tyte defense..

You're assuming Tito makes it that far after taking a beating with that sledgehammer of a jab. Quartey had great power at Welter & it's likely that if he put Tito down early he'd finish him.

tito had better movement at welter than he did vs winky
