Roy Jones was the linear Champ, Tarver beat him then Tarver became the champ.

Glen Johnson beat Tarver then he became the champ and then Tarver beat him in the rematch so Tarver became the linear champ again.

Then Bernard Hopkins beat Tarver to win the RING Championship.

how was jones the linear champ?

the ring gave the title to roy for having the ibf/wba/wbc belts, not for beating the linear champ or it being a #1 vs. #2 matchup.

michalczewski and hill were the top 2 light heavys when they fought. jones had beaten mccallum and then got dq'd against griffin when michalczeswki beat quicksilver.

I believe this is the true Champion thing, but it makes no sense anyway! Jones destroyed Hill in a few rounds right after Michal beat him, and how did Hill become the RING Champion anyway?? He got beat by Thomas Hearns, although im not sure what he did inbetween those losses.

If Erdie is considered the Champion, then I just stripped him for fighting **** competition. Clinton Woods beat this Gonzalez

Roy Jones was #1, Michal was #2, ERIC HARDING was #3. Jones fought Harding in 2000, and a fight between the guys in the top 3 can make one of them the champion.
So Bernard is the Champion.
