I found this on boxing article this might help.
With 52-seconds to go in the 1st, Gatti, Jersey City, New Jersey, scored with a stiff left jab to the face but he was unable to follow up. Battling in close quarters with 25-seconds to go in the round, Mayweather landed a right hand uppercut then a wide left hook to the face. As Gatti turned to complain to the referee Earl Morton about the challenger pushing his head down, Mayweather unloaded a whip-like left hook flush on the chin. The blast landed square and dropped Gatti to one knee while he was still looking at the third man in the ring.Comment

he did.
either way, Mayweather from 130/135 was definately considered a powerful puncher along with his outstanding skill, i mean announcers used to rave that he had the ability to sit on combinations with power as well as outbox someone. Mayweather at those 2 weights was a complete package.Comment
