It's totally advice...too specific. Dance paulie Dance? That is advice. Had he said, show me something as opposed to instructing Paulie specifically to dance e.g. move away.

Telling a fighter to protect themselves and telling them HOW to go about it are 2 different things.

Watched this fight again the other night and its still irratating me, ive mentioned it before in another thread but nobody really took it on, 1st off im a big fan of Steve (**** Dastardly) Smoger but in the Cotto vs Mallinagi fight he was saying in the later rounds "Dance Paulie Dance" and even later when Mallinagi was taking a real beating "RUN PAULIE RUN!"
Nuts, just cant beleive no1's said anything about it, he's basically cheering him on!

Noticed the same **** too. He was fair in the Quintana fight thou.

Speaking to a fighter, unless you'r counting them out is completely ****ed up. You are basically being the trainer/referee. Now that is starting to make me wonder if, these ref's actually get a lil something if, he gives "pointers" to the boxer. Like saying "you're winning the fight" oh, yeah that too happened.

Paulie is the freaking man. He went straight from small time fights to the big time and did well against Cotto. It was by no means a blow out and I believe at least one of the judges had it as close as 115-112....if Paulie didn't trade in the beginning of the fight and the ring was bigger, he would've beat Cotto.

I have no problem with Smoger. He could take a **** right on the canvas during the 6th round and I wouldn't care. He let's em fight!
