I wouldn't rate Pavlik/Taylor any higher than Bika/Codrington...tonight's fight to me had better sustained action throughout..mainly because they were really going at it the whole way...Taylor/Pavlik had awesome moments and is held in high regard considering the level and importance...but imagine tonights fight with Taylor and Pavlik as the fighters? Would have been much better...

My money is on Vasquez/Marquez II....hard to top this one...I was reacting every round to that rematch...Taylor/Pavlik had a few rounds of more Boxing between the knockdown and knockout

Likewise, I vividly remember applauding at the beginning and end of every round. I also was doing shots of Jose Cuervo whenever the action intensified, so I was well ****ing hammered by the time of the stoppage.

First Round should at least get round of the year honors. It has a good shot at fight of the year as well.

It was better than those two fights for sure. Marquez/Vazquez is it's biggest competition though.

I think it would be excellent for boxing if it won FOTY. just good publicity for the Contender to have when it starts advertising for SEASON 4.

But at the same time, if you give the FOTY to its rightful owner, Marquez-Vazquez II, then maybe people will see that and say "wow, there was a fight better then Codrington-Bika? Let me see that.."

                    u know?

I do however, think that round for round, This was a more exciting and dramatic fight then Pavlik-Taylor (which is saying something), ANd is maybe the greatest Supermiddleweight bout of all time. It hasnt been around long, so im not sure which fights were in this divisoin, but i cant think of many at all being better then that...

I loved Marquez/Vasquez too as well and it was better technically as well, but the action of Bika/Codrington was amazing. For me right now it's fight of the year. If either won though I wouldn't be upset.
