    Not likely.

Mosley stood in front of the larger, depreciated Vargas and allowed Fernando to give him a fairly spirited showing in their first bout. Shane took some lumps in that fight, and stopped punching completely on multiple occasions under the strength of the bigger man.

Now, that may have been a worse version of Shane physically, but it was the same guy mentally. The same Shane Mosley who has gone out of his way to prove he can stand and trade up in weight with just about anyone he's ever been in front of.. The tough guy. For better or worse, always the tough guy.

He's got some miles on him.. He's facing the sledgehammer surgeon..

At least one respected Boxing writer has questioned if Shane Mosley's bravado will be his downfall. What's it gonna be?

We know Mosley doesn't run from anyone & he's gonna fight Cotto. But I think he's gonna fight smart in that he goes toe-to-toe in certain spots & uses his speed to get the upper hand in exchanges. He knows he's the faster guy & he said that will be his main weapon. He also said that Cotto will be surprised at how strong he is too & if Cotto is stronger than it won't be a surprise to him because he's been in the ring with bigger guys. I don't think his warrior spirit will be his undoing but it'll carry him to victory because he's a stubborn/proud fighter. I think Cotto will be surprised when he not only notices the speed difference but when he feels Mosley's strength because he's used to being the stronger fighter.

I hear that, my man. I could easily see that being the case.

I haven't heard any media yet picking Mosley..

The Ring, Ron Borges, Doug Fisher, Steve Kim, and others are all picking Cotto based on the body assault. Everyone so far has Miguel Cotto.

I myself am not totally certain Mosley can sustain 12 rounds of peristent body shots - but Mosley won't be taking as many punches for a plethora of reasons mostly having to do with the power shots Cotto will inevitably be eating on a consistant basis.. Either way I'll prefer it if Mosley doesn't allow himself to be hit to the "body" by cotto more than a very small handful of times per round.. Hopefully not too much tough guy **** from Shane..

Once Mosely throws out those fast flurries I think Cotto will be confused.

That is one of the reasons I have Cotto winning. Mosley gets sloppy sometimes when he wants to fire big shots right back. The biggest reason I have him losing is age to be honest. A young prime Mosley blows Cotto out of the water no contest.

Cotto's fanboys aren't voting for some reason yet.. Only a few..

Well, it gives you a sense of what the polls would look like without them.

I with you too. We all know Cotto can wear down opponents with his body attack but I'd like to see what happens when he has someone doing the same to him which Mosley will. Will Cotto be able to sustain taking a beating to the body himself because Mosley's no slouch in that department either.

Mosley's chin is as solid as you'll find, and there's no quit in him whatsoever. He's one of the last fighters I'd ever imagine to quit a fight because he lacked "heart" or whatever. No way.

I think IF Mosley stands with Cotto he will get punished to the body & i think he will start to slow down and really begin to look his age ,IMO he will get beaten conclusively over 12 rounds if he employs these tactics of standing with Miguel Cotto

i dont think Cotto is that Chinny either he took Torres & Judah best shots and was'nt in danger of being stopped at any point in the Torres fight he was flawed and obviously rocked but he was'nt out on his feet at any point in either fight

The first and third option are the most probable answers, maybe you should have allowed more than one option. Anyway I chose option three > which is the worst case scenario.
