....I'm talking about the situations where you have a single boxer or other sports figrue giving life to an entire nation or part of the world. Tito, Cotto, Pacman, etc. etc. All of the people get behind them them in a national ferver. That absolutely does not happen here because 90% of the people have more to live for than a sports hero. When you live in a depressed part of the world,your dirt poor, and life just plain sucks, you can throw your heart into a sports hero as a way to feel better about your situation and your country. We will never be that fanatical because at the end of the day our above par lives take precedence.
