The most complete fighter fighting today

Who is the most complete fighter fighting today? Who can do it all not just in little bursts but win a fight fighting in different styles depending on the opponent they are fighting.

Joe Calzaghe certainly has to be considered. Is there nothing he can't do, Bernard Hopkins is another great all rounder. Floyd Mayweather has the talent to fight any style he wishes but hasn't proved it as much as the above 2 fighters. Marco Antonio Barerra is another complete fighter. Evander Holyfield although past it can fight many different ways. Sugar Shane Mosely is another multi talented fighter but who is the most complete all rounder.

These 6 spring to mind off the top of my head. No doubt I have forgot someone that people think should be considered.

For me it's a toss up between Sugar Shane Mosely and Joe Calzaghe

Its you know who, seriously, one of the best fighters to ever put on a pair of boxing gloves, 5 weight world champ by the age of 30, fighting Hatton and DLH back to back in one year, becoming WBC world champ at age 21 or summin, multiple golden gloves winner, olympic medalist, the list goes on.

Accomplishments don't mean nothing so why list them. I'm talking the most complete all-rounder. I rate PBF and think he can do almost everything but could he beat someone by constantly coming forward like a Hatton and win a fight like this. I know he can do it in short bursts and then get back out but Calzaghe can do it better and so can Mosely.

Course not, so to clarify, your now saying that Mayweather doesnt have the most complete skill set in boxing?

Can floyd win coming forward, i dunno, ask Corrales who was unbeaten and tipped by most pundits to beat floyd, or floyd coming forward with damaged shouler against castillo or coming forward against a near 160 pound arturo gatti.

Boxing at a distance or on the backfoot definately. Just don't think he's as effective as Calzaghe or Mosely coming forward. Not saying he can't fight this way at all. But Calzaghe and Mosely are better fighters coming forward then PBF.

I can take you disagreeing with me but don't put words into my mouth that I haven't said. I am allowed an opinion.

You didn't see him rival Calzaghe's technical skills in their life and death fight?

I have come to realize that a complete fighter just doesn't exist. No one has all their skills be perfectly balanced. This means that anyone who tries to be a complete, all-around fighter is taking away from their chances to win a fight, because they are getting away from their strengths to try to showcase their weaknesses as strengths.

Winky Wright is not even close to a complete fighter. He is a defensive, counterpuncher with very good technical ability. He would get absolutely ****ing murdered if he tried to swarm someone.

Miguel Cotto is an excellent swarmer. Good power, somewhat quick, relentlessly aggressive, with good stamina. If he tried to showcase other boxing skills that he usually does, in effect, look like Pernell Whitaker, he would be

                1. Crushed
                And
                2. Laughed at for acting like a jackoff and getting his ass handed to him.

Juan Manuel Marquez fits this thread topic and what you said in red.

He used to be just a laid back counter punch, waited till you threw a punch then counter punched you to death. Perfect balence always. Now he is a come forward fighter and is all offence most of the time and still has great balence. Juan Manuel Marquez can do it all. He can box, brawl, is great on defence, and offence, has a great chin, jab etc. He's that good.

How can he be less effective then Calzaghe coming forward when calzaghe has to slap/punch so he doesnt break his hands after every fight?

Mayweather moved up to 154 and de la hoya momentarily felt the weight of a few of his shots, what you dont take into account is that when you move up 5 weight classes you cant always be gun-ho Marco Antonio barrera or you may get yourself knocked out, that where the skill level of mayweather are so good.

You think if mayweather spent 10 years at 130 he couldnt knock those guys out?
