Great fighters are good for the sport regardless of race, true boxing fans know this. Nothing wrong with backing a counryman but to say that boxing will do better if one race or another excels is crazy.

I think this idea of the great white hope is dead. White people love black fighters, and a white champion doesn't revive the sport. You ask white people who their favourite fighters are, they're most likely going to say Tyson, Ali, Foreman, SRL, Oscar, Roy Jones etc etc etc.
