Bernard is to old, this fight should have been made a long time ago. Bernard has been barely getting by Taylor and Winky. Taylor is a decent boxer and Winky was to small. Calzaggie has to much activity for Bernard to keep up with.

Looks like Joe should beat chad dawsons ass instead of taking a fight with hopkins... Cause hopkins sucks now... Hopkins is nothing like he use to be. I think Hopkins had more hugs then thrown punches in his last fight against winky

But Hopkins is THE man at 175 so it makes sense for Joe to beat just one guy for supremecy of that division. Dawson would be a detour fight and one which isn't lucrative or legecy cementing.

yeah, i guess... Since hopkins does talk alot of ****. I guess it would be nice for Calzaghe to finish hopkins off into retirement

Calzaghe wins in a borefest. Hopkins no longer engages or trades heavily. His beautiful lead right would land home often, but not enough. Calzaghe, even if he only lands 2-3 punches a round, simply throws enough punches to keep Hopkins from throwing and wins an ungodly boring fashion.

Who knows though. There's always hope. If the fight turns exciting I'd favor Hopkins more, but as it stands he doesn't throw enough to stand a chance against somebody like Zag.

This fight 4-5 years ago I favor Hopkins heavily though.

There would be obvious upsides to fighting him:

If he wins he would have a great name on his record. People can say Bernard was old but hes still lb/lb on most peoples lists and had a couple very good wins recently. Scratch that had some wins over very good opposition recently. It would be a name on his legacy and in 10 years people wont even remember how old he was. Theyll just look up his rec on boxrec.com and see Bernard and say "holy **** this guy beat up hopkins, he must be good."

B-Hop is pretty good against southpaw, and he has a tone of experience ( something kessler missed tonight ).

B-Hop is a genius when it comes to find a way how to beat an opponent ( often boring, dirty, but still winning the fight ).

I think he can win a sd, in a really dirty fight.

Hopkins is still regarded as top 10 p4p, a loss with Calzaghe should be enough to send him into retirement.
