ERIK MORALES! Thats all you have to know.

      j/k.

But really what happened that i recall was that Erik was a Jr. featherweight and was having a tough time making weight. Then he went to featherweight after he couldn't make weight any longer. Then rumers that Mayweather was having problems making weight or draining himself to make 130. So then Mayweather moved up to lightweight. Then i don't know how soon after Morales moves up and it didn't happen right away since Chavez, Hernandez and Casamayor were already Champions, -casamayor already had the belt.

One reason they couldn't fiight is because at the time Morales and Mayweather were Arums only top fighters, money making machines so he wasn't going to let one superstar lose to the other.

There were rumors too, that Morales had sparred with Mayweather and that Morales got the better of Mayweateher.

The real question should be why couldnt' Mayweather have fought Joel Casamayor when they were both Champions at jr. lightweight.

Forgot to add that after Erik Morales moved up in weight EVERYBODY followed, from Barrera to Pacquaio to todays jr. featherweights to jr. lightweights who are doing what Erik did and fight everybody within these 3 weight classes.

and thats coming from a naz fan who was devastated when naz lost to barrera. i loved naz, he was one of the few who would praise god OPENLY before and after a fight, man i loved that guy.
prime Nassem could beat them all but then he started to slack off alot. in the Barrera fight during the traing camp Emanuel Steward was working with Lennox Lewis leaving Naz alone and He was getting his ass kicked during sparring which is not good indication that he is doing well on training.

He was so ****y and condifient that he will win without training but I guess he is not hunger at the end of his career

I think if he fought Casamayor that time he would have lost because pre-Corely fight Mayweather never faced a southpaw as good as Casamayor and is not used to it. Casa is experince and got alot of trick in his sleeves.

But right now I think Mayweather is better than him starting that he won belt in couple of weightclass while Casamayor is scratching his head for big fight that never happened

Floyd would demoilsh MAB...MAB needs to have a slow pace to be succesful since he left 122...Floyd got veryaggressive against smaller guys...it wouldve been ugly, MAB wouldnt go more than 5...

Morales' prime was 122-126 and thats the reason at 130, a fight vs Floyd would be a one sided 12 round beating...Morales didnt have the legs anymore, but still had the chin and size to absorb tremendous punishment...people forget Morales had never been down until the second Manny Pacquiao fight(120 amateur fights+50 professional fights) and even that knockdown was because he was tired....not by clean punches...
the third pacquiao fight was the first time morales was down with a clean punch and by that time he made the corrales who fought clottey and casa look like muhammad ali...
            Floyd UD 12...

Floyd would make Pacquiao fight going backwards...and Manny cant do that...same history as with MAB, Floyd would be able to take Pacquiao's punch and gor for the kill immedatly....Floyd by KO in less than 5...

            BTW.....regarding Morales, i mean the 130 version from 2004 to 2005...

featherweight morales still had legs, so if he wouldve fought the 130 floyd i would give him a very good chance.....morales had a style that would trouble mayweather very much...theres even rumours about a sparring session in which morales got the better of floyd.....
