So Hopkins right now, and if jones looks nice in his next fight, then Jones also.

And why would he want to fight Roy jones? If he whipped RJ what exactly is he proving? that he whipped an over the hill RJ? big deal. And there is no way joe should have to go to america to fight RJ, if he wants the fight that bad he should come to the UK.

Hopkins agreed to fight joe for $3 mil, then when Joe agreed Hopkins moved it up to $6 mil! Although i do agree after this fight joe should go to america and fight hopkins. I feel its only right Joe should have to go to america for this fight as hopkins is still on top of his game.

Well if he didn't duck anyone, he sure wasted good years of his career staying in Europe.

I'm not actively saying that Joe Calzaghe directly avoided certain fighters. But it is undeniable that he could have super-started his career years ago by trying to take fights over seas, especially in the late 90s when boxing was still strong in the States. America certainly had room for a young, good looking Italian white guy and he would have been easily marketable over here so I don't want to hear that excuse. Joe Calzaghe is guilty of resting on his laurels in a boxing back-water when he could have been a true legend. Kessler is making these strides and for being 7 years younger than Joe, has almost as many fights as Joe and more fights internationally. There is no excuse for this. Joe flied low-key and steady for years when he could have exploded onto the scene, who cares if he would have had a loss or two, eventually his "greatness" (if he is supposedly that) would have shone through, right??

Can Joe honestly look into the mirror and say he did all he possibly could to fight the best when he was younger? Surely not, he could have done much more. I expect the Calzaghe apologists to attack me with fervor and venom, but it doesn't matter because all the marbles are on the line tonight....if he handily beats Kessler, he will get all the props in the world from this American, if he doesn't I will cast him away as another Ottke with more hand-speed.

I know that, but he doesn't look very English to me, much more Italian (which means he's better looking than most English people :P).....why does he wear an Italian flag on his trunks most of the time? I doubt he's trying to conceal the fact that he's half Paisan.
