Ouma was in a trance. He fought ******ly. He took the shots, and has done the same thing in the past, from the bigger man almost just because he CAN. It's going to shorten his career and damage his brain. Sometimes a good chin can hurt you.

Ouma is too calm sometimes...not showing enough urgency. His strength thus became his weakness. But, I am not counting Ouma out just yet. The Dream is not officially over...but if it is, it was good while it lasted.

Seeing this only further solidifies the notion that Taylor will get retired if he faces Pavlik once again. Look at what this bum did to Ouma at 154 and Jermain couldn't do this to him at 160....

Yeah but you never know when a guy is on the downslide. With Ouma's rough style, even sparring can be very damaging over time for him. I would blame Ouma's rough career before assuming Ouma is just as good as he ever was. We really do not know.

Also, sometimes a fighter just has a bad night. Furthermore, this is boxing and styles make fights. Ouma losing a close fight to Roman does not mean Taylor loses again to Pavlik. This kind of logical jump has been refuted over and over again in this sport.

You are right 100%, but in this case you have to throw the logic out the window. There is absolutely NO excuse to be made for Taylor. Taylor fighting a naturally much smaller man in Ouma who is not the greatest of boxers and is there to be hit. He comes straight forward with a flurry of light punches that could barely crack a welterweight and there is no reason why the undisputed, 6'0 tall, built, supposedly skilled and athletic Taylor could not spank this man. The bottom line is that his performance against Ouma hinted at his decline and this example last night shed further light on Taylor not having it anymore or quite possibly never having it at all.

Yeah but Ouma has beaten down and frustrated many top contenders with his busy 'light punching' style. A 1,000 bee stings is enough to bring a bull down.
